Port-Cartier, September 18, 2024 – ArcelorMittal Mining Canada (“ArcelorMittal”) is proud to announce that the redevelopment of the outdoor playground of the Mer-Veilleuse facility at CPE Touchatouille in Port-Cartier is now complete. ArcelorMittal donated $350,000 to the CPE to make this project possible.
This completes the second and final phase of work on CPE Touchatouille’s outdoor play areas. The first phase, in 2022, involved landscaping the yard of the Sentier des merveilles facility, with ArcelorMittal covering the full cost with a $200,000 donation.
“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with CPE Touchatouille in order to provide a stimulating environment for the children of Port-Cartier,” said Mapi Mobwano, President and CEO of ArcelorMittal Mining Canada. “By redeveloping the second playground, we wanted to create a safe and inviting play area for our little ones. We’re delighted to be able to help provide local families with access to better services.”
Work carried out at the Mer-Veilleuse facility includes the installation of play modules, synthetic surfacing, a pergola, a sandbox and new fencing.
