Port-Cartier<\/span>, January 20, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 ArcelorMittal Infrastructure Canada G.P. (\u201cArcelorMittal\u201d) presented its steel-headed cane to Captain Aladin Canto Tinambunan of the bulk carrier Navios Meridian<\/em>, the first ship to leave its Port-Cartier<\/span> port facilities in\u00a02025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originating from Gda\u0144sk in Poland, the ship left ArcelorMittal\u2019s port facilities on January 16 bound for Gij\u00f3n in Spain, carrying on board more than 77,560 tonnes of iron ore concentrate, carrying more than 77,560 tonnes of iron ore concentrate. The bulk carrier Navios Meridian<\/em> was built in 2023. It measures 228 metres long by 32 metres\u00a0wide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ArcelorMittal\u2019s internationally recognized port at Port-Cartier<\/span> is the biggest private port in Canada and part of our heritage for over 60 years. In 2024, ArcelorMittal\u2019s port facilities in Port-Cartier<\/span> welcomed 391 ships, performed more than 800 port entry and exit manoeuvres and handled over 27 million tonnes of concentrate, raw materials, fuel and\u00a0grain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
