Port-Cartier<\/span>, March 26, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 The mayor of Port-Cartier<\/span>, Alain Thibault, and the president and CEO of ArcelorMittal Mining Canada (\u201cArcelorMittal\u201d), Mapi Mobwano, have confirmed an agreement regarding the assessment roll of ArcelorMittal\u2019s Port-Cartier<\/span> facilities for 2022\u20132024 and\u00a02025\u20132027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ArcelorMittal and the City of Port-Cartier<\/span> have reached an agreement on the 2022\u20132024 assessment roll and have already settled matters for the 2025\u20132027 assessment roll. Both parties are happy to put these issues behind them and look to the\u00a0future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been in Port-Cartier<\/span> for over 60 years and will continue to invest in the community to keep it thriving. We have several major strategic projects, including the flotation project at our pellet plant, which will enable Port-Cartier<\/span> to maintain its position as a global leader in the production of high-purity iron for years to come. We have every reason to be proud,\u201d said Mapi Mobwano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
