Monitoring committee serving the community

Mission

The monitoring committee provides a dedicated forum for dialogue between the community, ArcelorMittal Mining Canada and ArcelorMittal Infrastructure Canada (collectively “ArcelorMittal”), with a view to promoting harmonious coexistence.

Mandate

The monitoring committee’s mandate is to:

  • Create a forum for dialogue and information sharing between ArcelorMittal and individuals and groups concerned by our activities, ensuring that everyone is represented and able to express their views.
  • Promote a shared, in-depth and nuanced understanding of the environmental, social and economic impacts and challenges associated with our activities.
  • Make recommendations in order to influence and improve practices, propose collaborative solutions and maximize benefits to the community.
  • Relay information arising from the committee’s activities to organizations and citizens.

The committee’s first meeting will be held in winter 2026.
